Syndicated Host-Producer Of Let’s Talk Nutrition
For more than three decades, Dr. Michael Garko has devoted himself as a researcher and scientist to the theory and practice of health, wellness and nutrition. Over the past five years Dr. Garko has hosted Let’s Talk Nutrition (LTN), a nationally syndicated, evidence-based health talk show. He is recognized as being among the most respected, popular and passionate health talk show hosts on radio and expert in nutrition and natural health therapies.
Dr. Garko’s mission on LTN is to inform and inspire listeners on lifestyle and nutritional choices they can make to take charge of their health and live with vitality and optimism. The approach he adopts to his own health and point of view on LTN is based on the principle that nutrition is the primary pathway by which health and wellness are created, reclaimed and sustained over the lifespan.
In hosting LTN, Dr. Garko has taken on a journalistic mission. He reports and comments on important public health issues in America such as infectious and chronic diseases, the overweight/obesity epidemic, health hazards of industrial toxins, the status of health and aging of the population, sustainability of the planet, food safety, health care, food deserts in major metropolitan cities and solutions to unhealthy lifestyle and dietary behaviors, among other public health issues.
Dr. Garko writes articles for health and wellness magazines and publishes a monthly newsletter, called Healthful Hints. He appears on television and as a guest on other health talk radio shows. Dr. Garko consults with leading national and international dietary supplement companies, conducts health related seminars and workshops and gives speeches on topics pertaining to health, wellness and aging successfully.
Dr. Garko was awarded his doctorate in communication from the Florida State University in 1988. He earned a master’s degree in communication from the University of South Florida in 1983. He earned a bachelor’s degree in humanities and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of South Florida in 1972 and 1973, respectively. As a university professor for more than 25 years, Dr. Garko received honors and awards for excellence in teaching and research.
